Visualisation

The use of high fidelity visualisation and simulation in learning solutions can shorten the gap between a virtual training session and the same task on the job creating more efficient and effective training continuums for our clients.

MMCLD creates visualisations and 3D models of components and procedures at a fidelity that allows full replication in a virtual interactive space. This approach can be used to meet training requirements focussed on complex equipment’s, procedures, technical operations and maintenance.

Augmented and Virtual Reality

MMCLD has a history of building expertise through the use of cutting edge tools and hardware to create unique and unforgettable learning events.  As technology capability extends, MMCLD believes augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) will come to revolutionise how we consume information and are perfect for immersing the learner in a life like simulation to support systems training.

In MMCLD’s experience, the suitability of AR or VR as a media for learning solutions is driven by a number of underlying principles.

Given AR inserts equipment or assets into an existing environment, MMCLD has found AR is generally most suitable when “operation” is conducted on equipment or assets in a “static” mode not a “motion” mode, that is equipment is not in motion relative to the learner.  In this environment, MMCLD has also applied our expertise in computer based training and software development to enable the extension of the AR learning experience through creation of layers of digital information on top of the physical world.

As, VR creates an environment or “virtual world” that the learner and training equipment or assets can be inserted into, MMCLD has found application to be most effective to first person type learning scenarios. These activities typically map the learner’s movements and provide a view of what an actual person would see and do.

Simulators

MMCLD’s simulation and modelling capability extends into the production of simple desk-top through to fully-functional tactile, and high-fidelity part-task-trainers and simulators.

MMCLD is able to develop high-quality models and systems that can been used in these trainers and simulators or can maximise replication of a system’s fidelity through reuse and integration of existing engineering models.

Specialised Hardware, OEM Hardware, Cabinetry Fabrications

To support the development of simulation solutions, MMCLD is able to design and fabricate specialised hardware and cabinetry.

An example of MMCLD’s capability was applied in the development of a tactile simulator for the Royal Australian Navy. The simulator was designed and built by MMCLD and included 3 x 55” HD screens, a fabricated student console using original equipment manufacturer parts, and an instructor console with full capability for simulation control, recording and fault injection. MMCLD subsequently designed and fabricated a mobile, deployable version within a tactical military case
